Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TVA Trading Pty Ltd (ABN 48 655 493 388), trading as Couvra ("Couvra", "we", "us"), handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who this policy covers
Couvra provides restaurant booking software to restaurants ("Clients"). When a guest makes a booking, the restaurant is the party that decides how that information is used; Couvra processes it on the restaurant's behalf as part of providing the software. This policy covers information we hold as a business, including Client account holders and guests who book through the platform.
2. Information we collect
- Guest booking data โ name, email, phone number, party size, booking date/time, dietary requirements, allergies, seating preferences, occasion, and any notes provided with a booking.
- Client account data โ names, email addresses, and roles of restaurant staff who use the platform.
- Technical data โ IP address, browser type, and log data collected automatically to operate and secure the service.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, confirm, modify, and remind guests about bookings;
- provide the booking platform to restaurants and their staff;
- send transactional emails (confirmations, reminders, account notices);
- secure the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
4. Disclosure
We disclose booking information to the restaurant the booking was made with. We also use trusted service providers (for hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, and file storage) who act on our instructions. We do not sell personal information.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
6. Storage and security
Personal information is stored on secured infrastructure with access controls, encryption in transit, and hardened application security. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.
7. Retention
We retain booking information for as long as needed to provide the service to the restaurant and to meet legal and operational requirements, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
8. Access, correction, and deletion
Under APP 12 and APP 13 you may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may also request deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate the record (for example, the booking reference, name, and email used). We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable period. Where the information belongs to a restaurant's booking records, we may need to coordinate the request with that restaurant.
9. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure forms. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this page.
